I will never forget the moment Ann made the announcement that we were going to have a baby. I had a permanent smile on my face. In fact, my mouth seemed to be too small to project the joy and excitement I felt in my heart. I had to share it. We told family, friends and anyone we could. We were full of enthusiasm, and it was as if our life as a married couple had taken on real meaning.
The truth was we already had a baby, we just had to wait another eight months or so for it to appear. We were proclaiming to the world that a baby was on its way; that we were going to do our part to bring this new life into the world. We were also giving them an opportunity to share in our joy and to participate practically in it.
The early prospectors who came to our country seeking gold, also staked their claim. Why not stake yours?
